2017. Illustrated type specimens
Illustrated and typeset a book of type specimens.
For a typography class, I created an illustrated book of type specimens. Each typeface is accompanied by a brief description set in various sizes. A unique letterform, created by combining two unique glyphs, further emphasizes the form and flow of the typeface.
The plates in this type specimen were prepared by suspending multiple 7mm paper characters laser cut from Bristol board in unflavored gelatin. Each letter was placed by hand using tweezers, photographed in differing lighting conditions, and minimally processed.
