Bose Frames
2019. Consumer audio product
Developed firmware, Unity SDK, and demo applications for consumer audio electronics.
I contracted with Bose Corporation to help develop Bose Frames, a line of sunglasses with built-in speakers and motion tracking technology.
I worked on the device firmware, and created and maintained a user-friendly, extensible Unity library for hardware interfacing.
I also developed and implemented an efficient realtime sound spatialization algorithm to virtually place sound sources around the listener’s head and react to motion.
In order to help streamline the motion tracking calibration procedure for users, I developed an audio-based calibration system that uses dynamic musical cues to guide movement without needing screens.
To assist in development, I created a testing platform for remotely debugging the hardware, and authored documentation and training materials.
